The Belknap County Conservation District in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is hosting a free, in-person public Belknap County Natural Resources Assessment - Local Work Group meeting on March 28th from 6 to 8:30 PM at the 70 North Restaurant and Market, 70 N. Endicott Street, Laconia NH. The purpose of a ‘Local Work Group’ meeting is to assess the natural resource management needs of Belknap County in an open dialogue with citizens, natural resource organizations and government agencies. 

The information gathered at this event will be factored into guidance directing funding and allocation decisions for NRCS, the Conservation District, and potentially other natural resource-based programs in the County.


Light refreshments will be served.

Meeting Objective:

Listen to organizations, agencies and citizens share their input on the following

  1. Values on the importance of natural resource conservation in Belknap County 

  2. Perspectives on issues impacting environmental quality, agriculture and forestry

  3. Opinions on the priority of these issues

  4. Recognition of who/which organizations may already be working on these issues

  5. Ideas on how to address the gaps with actions and program opportunities to address these issues
